Outreach supporting our community since 1991
Education
Our outreach education involves our Relevé after school program and our Shining Stars dance program. Both of these programs focus strictly on providing dance education to the underserved and special needs members of our community, free of charge. Started in 1996, our Relevé after school program has reached over 2,500 students ages 6 to 12. Our Shining Stars dance program is designed specifically for special needs children between the ages of 6 and 21. Since its inception in 2005, our Shining Stars program has reached over 340 students.
Scholarships
Chamberlain Ballet provides scholarships for students to study dance both at home and at some of the world’s top ballet and dance programs. Thanks to Chamberlain Ballet’s donor and sponsor support, students have become the first in their families to attend university and/or work professionally in the arts. Chamberlain Ballet is proud to help bring forth continuing generations of artists in our community and around the world.
Performances
Through our Community Connections performances, Chamberlain Ballet provides free access to professional quality performances for the under-served, at-risk, special needs, and military families. Since beginning this program in 1991, over 41,000 individuals and families have enjoyed our community connections performances.

Relevé after school program, founded in 1996
Relevé After School Dance Program
Starting in 1996, through a partnership with the the City of Plano, Chamberlain established the free After-School Dance Program at the Douglass Community Center. The program was a huge success and continued to expand starting in the 2006-2007 season to include classes at the Frisco and McKinney branches of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County. Currently weekly classes are being held at the Boys and Girls Club-Plano Branch, Sigler Elementary School, and Salvation Army. The highlight of the After-School Dance Program is the end of year recital, with a fully staged production. These FREE dance classes have reached 2,566 students ages 6-12 since the inception in 1996. Several of the most dedicated students have received scholarships to further their dance training. Currently, we also have students enrolled, and on scholarship, through The Andrea-Mennen Family Foundation.
Shining Stars Dance Program, founded in 2005
Shining Stars!
In 2005, Chamberlain started the Shining Stars program for students and young adults with special needs. This unique dance program is designed specifically for children and young adults with special needs, starting at age 6. These students attend specialized, FREE classes in movement and artistic expression. At the end of the year, Chamberlain provides a full production recital for family, friends, sponsors and the community. Thanks to a number of dance student volunteers, the Shining Stars program is highly-supervised and gives participants the chance to work with peers, develop flexibility and coordination, and have fun! With three classes offered each week in Plano, the Shining Stars program has proven to be a real boon to the community and enrollment has quadrupled over the past two years alone. We have reached 344 special needs students since 2005 through our Shining Stars program.
