Relevé: Our after-school dance program
Since 1996, Chamberlain has been transforming lives through dance by providing free, high-quality arts education to children throughout the community. In partnership with the City of Plano, the After-School Dance Program was launched at the Douglass Community Center, where it quickly became a thriving and beloved community resource.
Building on its success, the program expanded during the 2006-2007 season to include classes at the Frisco and McKinney Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County, bringing the joy and discipline of dance to even more young people. Following the challenges of the pandemic, the program has continued to grow and rebuild, with weekly classes now offered at Sigler Elementary School, Jackson Elementary School, and Mitchell Elementary School.
The culmination of each season is a special year-end recital, giving students the opportunity to perform on stage and celebrate their accomplishments with family and friends. For many participants, it is their first experience in the spotlight and a moment that builds confidence, pride, and lasting memories.
Since its inception, these FREE dance classes have served more than 3,000 students ages 6-12, opening doors to creative expression, artistic achievement, and opportunities that may not otherwise be accessible. Through dance, Chamberlain continues to inspire the next generation, one student at a time.
