A Place to Shine
In 2005, Chamberlain launched the Shining Stars Program, a unique dance initiative created specifically for children and young adults with special needs, beginning at age 6. Through FREE weekly classes, participants explore movement, creativity, and self-expression in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every individual is encouraged to thrive.
More than just a dance class, Shining Stars provides opportunities for participants to build confidence, improve coordination and flexibility, develop social connections, and experience the joy of artistic achievement. Dedicated student volunteers offer individualized support and encouragement, ensuring that each dancer receives the attention and care needed to succeed.
The program culminates in a fully produced annual recital, where dancers take the stage to showcase their accomplishments before family, friends, sponsors, and the community. These performances celebrate not only artistic growth, but also the determination, confidence, and unique talents of every participant.
Since its founding, the Shining Stars Program has served more than 500 youth and young adults with special needs, creating meaningful opportunities for inclusion through the transformative power of dance. With enrollment continuing to grow, Shining Stars remains a treasured community resource where every dancer has the chance to shine.
