The Writing’s on the Wall…
We’ve Missed Performing for You
A Pandemic Postponement
When we realized in the spring what this pandemic may mean for the fall, we knew our annual production of The Nutcracker was more than likely going to be postponed to 2021. After that came to fruition, we were approached by the wonderful team at Galleria Dallas with an opportunity to display a retrospective of our annual tradition for the December 2020 holiday season. Chamberlain Ballet can not truly and fully express our joy with how the wall has come together. Chuck Steelman and his team helped us partner with Julie Grannell at J and J Printing Solutions to hang our logo, copy vinyl, and 24”x36” posters (printed by AlphaGraphics Plano) across from the Apple store on the first floor of the mall.
The photos displayed are all taken by Ryan Williams (11), Brian Guilliaux (10), or are archival from past performances and events around Nutcracker production weekends. Over the ensuing week, we will be posting the stories behind each picture on the displayed posters.
Our Words on the Wall
Chamberlain Ballet was formed with one goal in mind, to give students a platform upon which to perform. We have been proudly presenting full length, short form, and mixed rep ballet and dance productions since 1984. From our first run of The Nutcracker in 1989, our pre-professional company has danced alongside guest artists such as Royal Ballet’s Carlos Acosta, Houston Ballet’s Janie Parker and Phillip Broomhead, and New York City Ballet’s Wendy Whelan, Phillip Neal, Tiler Peck, and Tyler Angle. We are thankful Claras’ travels, through the Land of Sweets, have become a holiday tradition for so many families.
With theaters closed and our annual production of The Nutcracker postponed, your support helps us further the arts in our community.
